PADI Boat Diver

The best dives are often only reachable by boat.

If you've always trained from the shore, boat diving takes some adjustment — from nautical terminology to how you enter and exit the water. Boat Diver prepares you to do it confidently and comfortably, on any type of vessel.

What you'll learn

Basic nautical terminology, boat-diving etiquette, how to stow your equipment correctly on board, entry and exit techniques from different types of boats, and where to find the safety equipment on board.

Course structure

  • Theory (eLearning): terminology, procedures and safety specific to boat diving.
  • 2 open water dives from a boat, applying entry, exit and on-board equipment-handling techniques.

The course is usually completed in 1 day.

Prerequisites

PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent.

What's next

Full confidence and independence on boat dives — essential for reaching many of the world's most beautiful dive destinations. This certification also counts towards Master Scuba Diver.
